The project presents an opportunity to explore very raw materials in a luxury bush context, searching for the essence of an African architecture.

The use of natural materials is essential in this environmentally sensitive area, and a temporary foundation was a prerequisite to allow for rapid rehabilitation of the area if necessary. We proposed a tented gum pole structure to leave the lightest possible footprint on the Serengeti, and the indigenous adobe technique of the Massai for the solid structures is in keeping with the natural environment.
