The building is a “Connector” like a road network linking three wings of office and support space, allowing for easy and visible interdepartmental communication as well as clear definition of public and private spaces.
Sanral's flat departmental structure, with all departments having equal status in the organization results in the 3 main departments all being located on the 1st floor. The support services and public interface spaces have been located on the Ground floor under the various office wings. The ground floor spaces connect to planned outdoor areas, with canteen and boardrooms opening onto landscaped terraces. Energy efficiency is a driving force in the design resolution which has been approached using a high performance building envelope of the building including a “green” roof and full sun screening and double glazing. |
